Best View So Far
January 28, 2007
Last week I was at the offices of Ralco Electric. They had a fantastic team and the view from their upstairs conference room is the best I've seen from a contractors office so far.

Philadelphia - Forefront Roadmap Class
November 01, 2006
In Philadelphia today teaching a class on Integrating Operations with the Forefront Construction Suite for Dexter+Chaney. I love being part of these classes because of the fantastic ideas that come up when you get both accounting and operations together thinking about how to improve the company.
New Jersey - BAMCO, Inc.
I just got back from a long but exciting day in New Jersey visiting with a wall panel manufacturer and installer, BAMCO, Inc. I got there a little early in the morning and had a great time having coffee and doing a little thinking while sitting in this beautiful park. They don't have the changing seasonal colors like this in California!
Non-Mainstream Hotels
October 19, 2006
When traveling it is often "safer" to choose a large chain so that you get consistent quality but the same old rooms start to look pretty boring after even a few trips.
Small Hotels, Big Personalities points to some smaller, independent hotel chains that offer great ammenities as well as individual style you can't find in the chain hotels.
Also, a helpful guide to some recommended hotels in various cities.
On The Way To Florida
October 01, 2006
This photo was taken flying into Houston Airport on the way to visit Woolems again in Palm Beach, Florida. Great waterway that the picture does not do justice to.

Favorite Book 2007
The Toyota Way is my favorite book for 2007. It had so many good ideas that I could not keep up and ended up reading it again and even buying the Field Book to go along with it.
Download Elegant Solutions from Change This which provides some highlights of the Toyota Production System. Too many ideas that are applicable to contractors to even count!
