This short article points to how the overall construction market and labor force are reacting with the slow-down in housing. Even though there is a significant slow-down with the housing market and this article points to and abundance of construction labor currently there is still the long-term trend that the market will face huge shortages of qualified workers.

Contractors should still be spending a lot of time working to align strategy with the organizational structure and tying that together with recruiting and personnel development goals. A qualified workforce does not develop overnight - most of the people you rely on daily to build your business have been doing this for 10+ years. If you want to avoid significant pain in the future you will have to focus on workforce development starting today.
